Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On Interstate 275 In Hillsborough County

Florida state police said the crash happened around 2:40 p.m. Friday on Interstate 275 just north of milepost 43.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A Winter Haven man died Friday when the motorcycle he was driving struck the back of another car, police said.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 47-year-old man was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound in the outside lane of Interstate 275 just north of milepost 43.

Around 2:40 p.m., police said the motorcyclist drove across the gore at an entrance ramp and collided with the back of a Tesla Model 3 that was traveling next to it. Following the crash, the motorcycle came to rest in the outside northbound lane of I-275.

The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Tesla — a 49-year-old Lithia woman — and her 19-year-old passenger were not injured, police said.
