Tampa EDITION Offers Elevated Dining Experience
Market at EDITION is one of seven restaurants and bars featured in the 5-star hotel.

TAMPA, FL — There has been a lot of anticipation for Tampa's first 5-star hotel, The Tampa EDITION.
Tampa Bay Food Tours was anxious to explore and share our recent visit. Much of a visit to this new property is about exploring. Visually there is a lot to take in as the property is ambitious even for a horticulturist.

The lobby is a sea of plants with soaring ceilings and highly impractical white furniture. I wonder if they serve red wine or if they have that yacht rule — no red wine (it stains).

The Market at EDITION is located on the ground floor and the space continues the lobby vibe. The restaurant features indoor and outdoor dining options and a cafe-like area.

The Market at EDITION's quiet outdoor patio is adjacent to a Water Street promenade allowing for a rare al fresco urban experience without the noise and distraction of traffic.

As you enter the Market from the lobby, this cool area features a nice meeting space and an informal counter seating option.

The French pastries, pies and sweets at the market look amazing.

We are here for a light lunch and decide to order a few appetizers. I traditionally don't post menus but since it is not readily available online, I will share a photo.

Vidalia Onion Petals with Calabrian Chili Aioli
The batter was very light, aka tempura-like, and the sauce was bright and tasty.

Breaded Provolone Marinara
I would order this dish again. The provolone was much more flavorful than its traditionally used cheese cousin mozzarella.
A note on the adult beverage situation. A non-craft beer was finally located after some time, and I gather travel and the only chardonnay available was by the glass priced at $21.
As I mentioned before, a visit to this property is about exploring. So, I am going to be lazy and, rather than wax poetic, I will share synonyms for lush and some photos of the hotel that evoke the word.

The lobby bar area features a fun yellow pool table and cozy seating.

The EDITION has seven restaurants and bars including the rooftop Azure featuring Mediterranean fare.

Azure's private outdoor terraces are very chic with great downtown Tampa views.

I hope to visit, afford, the Lilac restaurant for the prix fix menu soon.

Every property that opens in the Channel District brings the urban dream of Water Street closer.
I will be back for the Season Spectacular - Water Street Tampa on Nov. 18. The decorations and activities planned look very festive.

A note on valet parking: Spend $60 at the hotel and valet is discounted 50 percent to $15. There is an hourly rate parking lot next to Sparkman Wharf for a less expensive option.
