Unisen Senior Living launched the $25 million redevelopment project in 2020, sponsored by its not-for-profit parent organization, Tampa Life Plan Village, which purchased the property from the former operator, University Village. Tampa Life Plan Village specializes in health care, housing and support services for Tampa seniors.
During the VIP event on Dec. 9, Unisen Senior Living leadership gathered with community leaders to tour the renovated spaces and give remarks about how the upgrades will support the community and future residents.

During the Dec. 11 event, the public had the opportunity to tour the renovations, enjoy holiday-themed hors d’oeuvres and drinks, and hear music from the Dillingham String Quartet, Vitali Trio and harpist Judy Raab.
“We are proud to share our new common areas and living spaces with the Tampa community,” said Michael Brown, executive director of Unisen Senior Living. “The Unisen team is committed to continued improvements to best create a welcoming and enriching environment for our amazing residents.”
Unisen Senior Living is a life care retirement community dedicated to providing its active residents with exceptional value, enriching lifestyle choices and the confidence that they have the best plans in place for their health and financial futures.
Plans for a $25 million renovation project began as soon as Unisen’s life care retirement community was acquired by not-for-profit entity, Tampa Life Plan Village, in July 2020. The community’s “extreme makeover” includes its 445 apartments and 46 villas, as well as indoor and outdoor spaces and amenities.
As the community’s operating organization, Tampa Life Plan Village partnered with leading senior housing developer, Big Rock Senior Housing Management, to make the acquisition of Unisen possible.
