Oil Spill In Port Manatee, Thousands Of Gallons Removed: Coast Guard
More than 7,000 gallons of an oil and water mixture were removed from the port over the weekend, authorities said.

Emergency crews spent the weekend removing thousands of gallons of crude oil and water from Port Manatee, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The agency was alerted to the spill Friday and responders contained it using about 1,400 feet of floating barriers, the Coast Guard said in a social media post. Roughly 4,500 gallons of an oil-and-water mixture were removed Friday into Saturday, according to the agency, and another approximately 3,000 gallons of the mix were cleaned up Saturday.
As of Sunday, cleanup was ongoing and the party responsible for the spill was under investigation, authorities said.
