Palatka High School wrestlers "Getting Aggressive"

Palatka High School wrestling doing well

Palatka High School head wrestling coach Josh White has been the head wrestling coach for ten years and wrestled at Palatka High School as a student athlete. Josh graduated in 1991 and wrestled at weight classes 95, 103, 112 and 119.

Josh was coaching weightlifting before becoming the wrestling coach. Overall the program has done well. The program has had numerous state qualifiers, and overall the kids in this program, past and present, have been great kids.

The 2020 program has 15 on roster in 10 weight classes. The challenge to any program is summer training. Josh would like to see that area develop more. Josh's dad and former coach, Ralph White, had a strong summer program for 4 yrs. Josh would like to try to get back to that.

So far this season the wrestlers have shown "better aggression" with a need to work on "finishing the moves".

Josh appreciates the efforts of the students, parents and everyone that makes and effort with the program.
