Platt Street Bridge Project Nears Halfway Point

Construction work is "on time, under budget," TBO.com reports.

The Platt Street Bridge construction project is just about halfway done — welcome news to South Tampa commuters.

Work on the bridge, which was closed on Oct. 3, marks its halfway point this week, TBO.com reports. The 105-day project to repair and upgrade the bridge is expected to cost $13.8 million.

"We're on time, under budget, and everything is looking good," Steve Valdez, client services manager for the county's Public Works department, told TBO.com.
