Restaurant Burglary, Motorcylce Thefts Reported

Saturday, Sept. 10

  • An unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle parked at 3810 W. Kennedy Blvd. by prying the driver’s side door lock. Reported stolen were two purses with credit cards and identification.

Monday, Sept. 12

  • An unknown suspect entered an unlocked storage shed at the rear of the house at 4004 W. Leila Ave. Reported stolen was an Echo trimmer and an Echo edger.

  • A suspect entered the Hess gas station at 5602 S. Dale Mabry Hwy and gave the clerk a stolen credit card to pump gas. The suspect pumped diesel fuel into a large white-box truck and left without completing the transaction. The clerk swiped the card and discovered that the bank declined the transaction. The suspect pumped $100 worth of diesel fuel. The suspect was caught on surveillance video. He is described as a Hispanic or white male, age 20 to 25, with a medium build.

Wednesday, Sept. 14

  • An unknown suspect stole a 2003 Suzuki motorcycle from the Camden Reserve Apartments at 4805 Bayheron Place. The motorcycle has a Florida license plate, tag #3741KP.
  •  An unknown suspect stole a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle from the Camden Bayshore Apartments at 6401 S. Westshore Blvd. The motorcycle has a Florida license plate, tag #48546Q

  • Two white male suspects attempted to break into China Wok, at 4230 South MacDill Ave., by shattering a front window. The window was double-paned, and the suspects fled before the second pane could be broken.

 Friday, Sept. 16

  • A wallet was stolen from an unlocked Mazda RX6 parked at 2904 W. Ballast Point Blvd. The victim's credit card was used at a RedBox video rental site. The location of the credit card use could not be determined.

Saturday, Sept. 17

  • Two juvenile suspects cut the cable securing a motor scooter to a stairwell at 5013 S. Westshore Blvd. They fled without the scooter when detected. Police spotted the suspects at Paul and Himes Avenues, and they were identified by the witness.

Sunday, Sept. 18

  • A 2010 Volkswagon Jetta was stolen overnight from the parking lot of the "Cheap Restaurant and Bar," at 306 S. Howard Ave. The victim left the vehicle overnight in the valet section. When the victim returned Sunday morning, the vehicle was missing. The victim has the keys.

Monday, Sept. 19

  • An unknown suspect broke into a 2002 Acura RSX parked at the Intercontinental Hotel parking garage. The unknown suspect broke the vehicle’s driver’s side window. Reported stolen was a GPS and stereo system.

Tuesday, Sept. 20

  • A burglary was reported at Estellas Mexican Restaurant, 4015 S. Dale Mabry Highway. Some time between 10:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19 and 9:15 a.m. someone broke out the rear glass door of the restaurant, reached in and unlocked the door to gain entry. Reported stolen were two Vizio televisions.
