Ronald McDonald House Looking for Holiday Helpers

The homes in the Tampa and St. Petersburg areas have a number of needs as the holiday approaches.

Ronald McDonald House of Tampa Bay is hoping to make holiday dreams come true for the sick children and their families served by locations on both sides of the Bay. To make that happen, however, the nonprofit organization needs a little help.

The agency has issued its 2014 Holiday Wish List and is hoping residents throughout the Bay area will pitch in to assist. The needs are as follows:

Presents for Families

  • Books, new only, newborn to teen
  • $10 fast-food gift cards
  • $10 gas cards
  • $10 gift cards from Walmart and Target
  • $10 gift cards for movies, iTunes, Amazon
  • Stuffed Animals, new only, medium sized
  • Tote bags Toys, newborn to teens
  • Tinted Chapstick (such as Burt Bees)
  • Bath & Body Works products

Donors can also help Santa by providing items for gift bags at each bedroom door for moms, dads, patients and their siblings. New, unwrapped toys and items for newborns to teens are also welcomed.

Sponsor a Christmas Tree

These are needed at three locations. Donations needed include the live trees, lights, ornaments, tree skirts and toppers.

General Holiday Items

Needed things include wrapping paper, tape and gift bags.

Items for the Houses

  • iPad or Electronic Tablet
  • X-Box 360 & Wii games (no higher than “T” rating)
  • Outdoor Toys
  • Cookie Sheets
  • Outdoor Living Room Furniture - New (Tampa, East or West - estimated cost $2,000)
  • Gift Cards: Publix, Walmart, Home Depot and Bed, Bath & Beyond
  • DVDs, released in the last five years
