The Sail & Big Ray’s Fish Camp
A really delicious reason to visit downtown Tampa and the Riverwalk

This brand-new collaboration from the city owned Sail and Big Ray's Fish Camp is destined to be a big success.
Big Ray's is already known for their award-winning blackened grouper sandwich and foot-long lobster corn dogs. A quick internet search will uncover many top ten and best of designations for their food. It is great that such a local success has expanded to the burgeoning Riverwalk area.

The Sail could not have picked a better partner to elevate this already bustling prime Riverwalk spot.

he bar serves up tasty cocktails and provides a walk-up option to order food delivered to the immediate bar area. Table service is an option for the rest of the outdoor area. The fact that this is the third waterfront restaurant that I have visited in August that does not have indoor seating does not escape me. The bar area does make an attempt to keep things cool with fans.
Plenty of refreshing adult beverages are featured. I opt for a pretty blueberry fizz which was delicious and light. Perfect for a hot day.

The Riverwalk has a new contender for best grouper sandwich. Available grilled, blackened or fried and served with addictive crispy french fries dusted with Parmesan.

Big Ray's flash fried shrimp also raises the bar. Choose the shrimp po' boy featuring a crispy baguette, or skip the bread and enjoy the very tasty on point fried shrimp on its own.

Another notable option the shrimp roll and hand breaded delicious onion rings.

The sides and sauces were all outstanding. Let's take a closer look at those hand battered onion rings.

Clearly, we indulged in some fried goodness on our visit. The menu does offer lots of good options that are lighter and also outstanding non-seafood options.
For the minnows they have some solid choices.
