Sheriff Arrests 10 People During Weekend's Civil Unrest
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested 10 people during the civil unrest that took place Saturday and Sunday nights.
TAMPA, FL â The Hillsborough County Sheriffâs Office arrested 10 people during the civil unrest that occurred after peaceful protests on Saturday and Sunday.

Those arrested were charged with burglary, grand theft, battery on a law enforcement officer, carrying a concealed firearm (a gun), petit theft and resisting arrest.

Those arrested were:
- Jakera Bogle, 21, of Gulfport on charges of armed burglary of a structure, grand theft and carrying a concealed firearm.
- Ashley Vasquez, 20, of Tampa on charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure and petit theft.
- Brittany Hudley, 27, of Tampa on charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, burglary of an unoccupied structure and petit theft.
- Traekwon Hankerson, 18, of Tampa on charges of burglary with more than $1,000 in damage.
- Tyreese Russ, 29, of Tampa on charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure.
- Michael Davis Jr., 27, of Belle Glade on charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure.
- Ransford Barnett Jr., 26, of Belle Glade on charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure.
- Sylvester Carmickal, 24, on charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and burglary of an occupied structure.
- Julian Cala, 24, on charges of burglary of an occupied structure and resisting an officer without violence.
- Michael Davis, 27, on charges of burglary of an unoccupied structure and third-degree grand theft.
Two deputies responding to the protests received minor injuries. Additionally, 15 sheriff's vehicles were damaged.

Deputies deployed canisters of tear gas in an effort to prevent protesters from getting into the University Square Mall.
âThroughout the day, the Hillsborough County Sheriffâs Office ensured the safety of those peacefully protesting,â said Chronister. âUnfortunately, as the night went on, individuals came out who were focused on chaos instead of change. I'm proud of the discipline, professionalism and focus of law enforcement who have worked tirelessly to contain and deescalate the violence that has unfolded.â

Also on Saturday night, the sheriff's office investigated the shooting of woman in the 13000 block of Kain Palms Court off East 131st Street in Tampa. The shooting occurred in the parking lot of a an apartment building and appears to be unrelated to the protests.
