Update: Police Identify Davis Islands Shooting Victim
Andrew Tyler Noll, 23, was shot in the chest.

Update Aug. 20, 10:38 a.m.: The Tampa Police Department has identified the victim in Tuesday night’s shooting on Davis Islands. They say Andrew Tyler Noll, 23, called 911 just before midnight and said he had been shot in the chest. A few minutes later, a second call came into 911 from Michal Simpson, 28, who said she had shot an intruder at her Riviera Drive home.
“When officers arrived at the scene, they found Noll lying on the second story floor of Simpson’s home with a single gunshot wound to his chest,” an email to media from police said.
Noll was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

While the investigation is ongoing, police say Noll and Simpson appear to have been acquainted with each other.

The Tampa Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night on Davis Islands.
While not much information is being released at this time, police said the shooting took place at 420 Riviera Drive. It is unclear when the crime occurred, but police sent an email to media around 2:31 a.m. indicating they are not looking for suspects and there is no cause for neighbors to be alarmed.
Police say the people involved are adults and the shooting doesn’t appear to be accidental. The injuries are described as non-life-threatening.
