TAMPA BAY, FL — On any other year, communities around the country would be commemorating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day on April 22 with tree plantings, park and waterway cleanups and perhaps a demonstration against off-shore drilling or discharge into environmentally sensitive wetlands.

With the stay-at-home order in place, this year environmental advocates are getting creative with ways residents can celebrate Earth Day without leaving their homes.

From April 22- 24, the Sierra Club Suncoast Group will join other chapters around the country in Earth Day Live, a three-day livestream where millions of people can join activists, celebrities, musicians and more in a moment of community and hope for the future.

Residents are invited to be a part of the Global Online #EarthDayLive by signing up for the livestream at EarthDayLive2020.org
