Slain Tampa Woman's Car Reported Missing

The 60-year-old was found dead in a locked room Monday morning.

The Tampa Police Department is asking Bay area residents to keep their eyes open for a car that may have been stolen from a North Hyde Park woman who was found dead Monday morning.

Police say Denise Cogmon of 2108 W. LaSalle St. was killed just before 4:30 a.m. Family members reported her missing and then found her body inside a locked room in the home.

Police say Cogmon’s 1996 gold Toyota Camry is missing from her home. They are unsure at this time if the car was stolen or it was loaned out prior to her death.

The car has a Florida tag number of BXYA96.

Anyone with information about the missing car or the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers immediately. A reward of up to $3,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
