Solid Waste Christmas and New Year's Day Holiday Collection Schedule

The solid waste residential and commercial collection schedule will not be affected by the Christmas holiday, but it will be affected by the New Year's Day holiday.

From City of Tampa Online: 

The residential and commercial collection schedule for City of Tampa Solid Waste customers will not be affected by the Christmas holiday for the week of Sunday, Dec. 25, through Saturday, Dec. 31. Both collection services will run as normal.

The McKay Bay Transfer Station/Scalehouse will not be affected by the Christmas holiday, but will run a modified schedule on Christmas Eve, closing at noon on Saturday, Dec. 24.

The residential and commercial collection schedule for City of Tampa Solid Waste customers with regularly scheduled collection days on Monday will be affected by the New Year’s Day holiday. There will be no residential garbage, yard-waste recycling, or blue-box recycling collection on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012.

Residential garbage collection services for customers affected by the holiday will resume on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012. Residential blue-box recycling and yard-waste recycling collection will resume on the next regularly scheduled recycling day.

Commercial Services will occur one day after the normal collection day for the week of Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 through Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012.

The McKay Bay Transfer Station/Scalehouse will run a modified schedule on New Year's Eve, closing at noon on Saturday Dec. 31. The facility will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012.

The City of Tampa Christmas tree collection service will run Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, through Friday, Jan. 6, 2012. Residents are asked to remove all decorations and lights, cut trees limbs to four feet lengths, bundle, and place at curbside on their regularly scheduled yard-waste collection day.
