Tampa Funeral Home Standoff Ends Peacefully: Cops

TAMPA, FL -- At 2 p.m. Tuesday, Tampa Police responded to Aikens Funeral Home at 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., where a distraught man was making comments about harming himself. He had barricaded himself inside the funeral home and was believed to be armed.

After a standoff of more than 90 minutes, the man came out and was taken into custody. He was not armed. There were no injuries.

The man was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
