Reviews.org wanted to know which scary series Netflix binge watchers in each state were tuning into leading up to Halloween.

ACROSS FLORIDA — As October comes to a close and spooky shenanigans, creepy crawlies and the undead fade back in the shadows, Reviews.org wanted to know which scary series Netflix binge watchers in each state were tuning into leading up to Halloween.

To compile the results, Reviews.org took a list of the most popular and highly rated scary series you can watch on Netflix, put each show title in Google Trends, narrowed it down by state, and let Google work its magic. Out came the results of which horror series was most popular in each state.

This year, America's favorite scary series on Netflix was a three-way tie between The Twilight Zone, Black Mirror and Devilman Crybaby. Each series claimed six states.

Black Mirror

The people of California, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Rhode Island like to get creeped out about robotic bees and blackmailing anti-malware programs. Now in its fifth season, Black Mirror is a series of standalone dramas that premiered Dec. 4, 2011. Five of the six states with Black Mirror as their favorite scary series had the same results last year.

The Twilight Zone

Michigan, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia are stuck in the Twilight Zone. Although the classic series created and narrated by Rod Serling originally ran from Oct. 2, 1959 to June 19, 1965, its appeal is timeless. Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone tied in six states.

Devilman Crybaby

Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Mississippi and Montana have a fascination with demons taking over the world. This anime series was introduced on Jan. 5, 2018.

The Haunting of Hill House

Idaho, Indiana, Missouri and Pennsylvania residents love a traditional haunted house. The Haunting of Hill House was a limited series of 10 episodes that aired starting Oct. 12, 2018. Ironically, it wasn't a favorite in Georgia where the series was filmed.

Other series that earned the title of state favorites were Stranger Things, Dexter, Scream, Ash Vs. Evil Dead, Castlevania, Twin Peaks, Helix, Black Summer, American Horror Story, Mind Hunter, Bates Hotel, Crazyhead, Glitch, The Walking Dead, Penny Dreadful, Van Helsing and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

Apparently, Netflix has a young audience in New Mexico where Goosebumps was the favorite for the second year running.
