TAMPA, FL — Two underage kittens stolen from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay’s Tampa shelter Thursday were recovered and returned to the organization.

The kittens, Mitch and Marcus, were taken by a man and a woman who snuck into the off-limits nursery and put them in backpacks.

Tampa police retrieved the kittens after receiving tips from the community about their theft, the Humane Society wrote in a Facebook post.
