Sunshine Health Shines Brightly on Celebrity Event to End Lung Cancer

As a Rock and Roll Sponsor, Sunshine Health Supports Lip Sync for Lungs to Help End Lung Cancer and Promote Lung Health

Today, the American Lung Association in Tampa is recognizing Sunshine Health for their investment in lung health and supporting the American Lung Association by sponsoring the Lip Sync for Lungs Live Battle VI, as the Rock and Roll Sponsor.

The Lip Sync for Lungs, taking place tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Higgins Hall, provides the unique opportunity for local celebrities to execute epic lip sync performances to songs of their choice, all to win the top spot of Lip Sync Battle Champion.

“This is one of my favorite events,” said Duenna Dorsett, Vice President of Provider Engagement for Sunshine Health. “It is a high-energy environment where professionals can step out of their comfort zone in a unique way while supporting a great cause and our partners at the American Lung Association.”

“Through events like the Lip Sync for Lungs, we are able to fund our work to improve air quality, educate residents on lung health and COVID-19, and help people who live with lung disease,” said Steven Riddle, Executive Director for the American Lung Association. “But we can’t do it alone. Our partnership with Sunshine Health helps us provide vital support to the Tampa Bay community and residents throughout Florida. From funding asthma education, to providing resources to those living with lung cancer, this support makes people’s lives better every day.”

Sunshine Health has been a longtime partner of the Lung Association through their volunteer program and financial support. Significantly, Sunshine Health’s support of Lip Sync For Lungs has allowed the Lung Association to take the event to the next level. Since the Lip Sync for Lung’s inception six years ago, Sunshine Health’s support has been a foundation for assisting to raise over $200,000 locally to support the Lung Association’s efforts to defeat lung cancer, champion clear air, improve the quality of life for those with lung disease and their families, and create a tobacco-free future.

This year’s celebrity lineup will include:

Celebrity judges will evaluate each of the performances. This year’s celebrity judges are Sybil Stanonis, Richard Boisvert and Kristina and Kirby Lavallee.
