Tampa Bay Chapter of (ISC)² Offers Scholarships to Local High School Students Planning to Pursue Cybersecurity

College scholarships available to high school students interested in pursuing careers in cybersecurity

The Tampa Bay chapter of (ISC)², an international nonprofit association focused on inspiring a safe and secure cyber world, is offering two scholarships to local high school students planning to pursue degrees in cyber, information, software or infrastructure security.

“The current shortage of workers in the cyber security fields is expected to grow, reaching a gap of 1.5 million jobs without skilled workers to fill them by 2020,” said Vanetta Kilpatrick, membership chairperson of the Tampa Bay (ISC)² chapter. “Our members are hoping to encourage local students to consider careers in these fields.”

There are two scholarships of $1000 each available to students currently enrolled in high school and residing in the Tampa Bay area, which includes Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco County counties. The student must be planning to enroll in a college or university within two years, if awarded the scholarship.
