Tampa Bay Weekend Weather: A Little Rain May Fall
Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area this weekend.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents ready to kick off the weekend might want to keep umbrellas handy just in case.
According to the National Weather Service, rain is a strong possibility in much of the region in the afternoon hours on Friday. Forecasters are calling for a 40 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms on Friday with a high in the low 80s anticipated. Storms are expected to clear out in the overnight hours when the low will fall into the upper 60s in much of the region.
Friday’s storms are not expected to bring severe weather with them, forecasters say. That said, however, the weather service did warn that locally heavy rain, lots of lightning and gusty winds are possible.

While Friday might end up being a bit of a washout in some parts of the bay, forecasters expect the rest of the weekend to shape up nicely for those with big outdoor plans. The forecast for Saturday calls for mostly sunny conditions with a high around 81 degrees. The overnight low should drop down to the mid-60s in much of the region. Rain isn’t in the cards in the daytime or nighttime hours, forecasters say.
Sunday brings much warmer temperatures with a high around 86 degrees forecast in some parts of the region. Sunny conditions are expected during the daytime hours. Overnight, temperatures should drop into the upper 60s with partly cloudy conditions expected.

As of Friday, forecasters expected the nice conditions to stick around into the start of the workweek. Rain, in fact, isn’t in the forecast through Thursday.
