Tampa Bay Weekend Weather: Storms On The Way

TAMPA, FL — Folks with big outdoor plans this weekend might not find the Tampa Bay area’s weather as cooperative as they’d like.
The National Weather Service says the region is in for a bumpy ride ahead with showers and thunderstorms both in the forecast. On the upside, those who have been wishing for a break from 80-degree high temperatures should see some relief before the weekend comes to a close.
According to the weather service, Friday kicks things off with a high in the low 80s expected in much of the region. Mostly cloudy skies will give way to a slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening hours. The low should drop into the upper 60s.

Saturday brings with it a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in both the day and nighttime hours. The day’s high is expected to once again reach the low 80s with a low in the upper 60s.

Rain is anticipated to continue well into Sunday with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms forecast for the daytime hours. The day’s high, however, is expected to only climb to the low 70s. Rain should move out by the evening hours when the low is anticipated to drop into the 50s.
Monday is expected to kick the workweek off with sunny conditions and a high that might not even break the 70-degree mark. A chilly low in the upper 40s is anticipated in much of the region Monday night. Temperatures are expected to rise back into the 80s as the week continues.
