Thunderstorms are possible in inland areas Monday afternoon, but are expected to diminish heading into the evening hours when a low around 74 degrees is anticipated.

“From Tuesday night through Wednesday, a rather potent cold front will move across the region, brining widespread showers and thunderstorms,” forecasters warned in the agency’s Hazardous Weather Outlook report Monday. “A few of the storms are likely to be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts and large hail possible.” Those storms could also deliver heavy rainfall, minor flooding issues and lightning strikes.
As of Monday, storm chances for Wednesday were forecast around 60 percent during the daytime hours Wednesday in Tampa Bay and about 50 percent overnight. The day’s high should reach the low 80s with a low in the upper 60s anticipated.
