Tampa Bay Workweek Weather: Sunshine, Sweltering Temperatures

Tampa Bay, FL —Tampa Bay area residents hoping for a sunny week will get that wish granted, but that doesn’t mean stifling heat and a few storms aren’t also in the cards.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday kicks things off with mostly sunny conditions and a high near 90 degrees in much of the region. Partly cloudy conditions are anticipated in the overnight hours when the low should drop to about 70 degrees. Rain chances aren’t in the forecast until later in the week.

Tuesday is expected to bring sunny conditions and a high around 90 degrees. Overnight, the low should fall into the low 70s with partly cloudy skies.

Wednesday is anticipated to start off with mostly sunny conditions with a chance for isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon hours. The day’s high is expected to climb into the low 90s even with those rain chances. Storm chances continue into the overnight hours when the low is expected to only fall into the upper 70s.

Thursday could bring wet conditions to parts of the region. As of Monday, forecasters anticipated a 30 percent chance of scattered showers throughout the daytime hours and into the evening, as well. The day’s high is expected to climb into the low 90s with an overnight low near 80.

Friday brings a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms mainly after 9 a.m. with a high around 90 degrees anticipated. The overnight low is expected to fall into the upper 70s with a 30 percent chance of storms lingering.

While no severe weather conditions are anticipated in the Tampa Bay area throughout the week, the weather service does warn that flooding continues to be a concern along the Myakka River at Myakka River State Park. Residents who live in the area are asked to remain watchful of water levels.

As of Monday, forecasters anticipated storm chances to remain between 30 to 40 percent heading into the weekend.
