Tampa Cops Set to Take Over Local Doughnut Shop
They two-day event takes place at the Kennedy Boulevard Krispy Kreme.

Tampa Police Officers are ready to shout Special Olympics’ message from the rooftops.
Seriously.
Officers are lined up to overtake the rooftop at Krispy Kreme, 3113 W. Kennedy Blvd., this Thursday and Friday from 6 to 10 a.m. both days in an effort to raise money for the Special Olympics.

During the two-day fundraiser, officers will sit atop the building and dangle buckets to collect donations for the cause. Visitors who stop by at 8 a.m. Thursday will even get to see the mounted patrol trot through the drive-through to snag some jelly doughnuts, the department announced in an email to media.
Patrons who donate at least $1 will receive a free glazed doughnut for their effort (one per customer).

“The money that is raised during the two-day event is used to help athletes with intellectual disabilities participate in Olympic style sporting events during the summer,” the department explained in its email. “The games will be played at Disney’s Wide World of Sports this May.”
This year’s fundraiser is the 10th annual presentation of “Cops on Doughnut Shops.”
