Tampa Man Helped Steal $12,400 in Gifts, Connecticut Cops Say
Police say the man and an accomplice used counterfeit credit cards to purchase the gift cards from Macy's in Milford.
Milford police say two men are accused of using counterfeit credit cards to illegally purchase $12,400 worth of gift cards from Macyâs, and one of the suspects allegedly bit a store employee.
On Monday, the Milford Police Department received a complaint from Macyâs, located at 1201 Boston Post Road, regarding two suspects, Charles Hamilton, 26, of Tampa and Akeem Henry, 26, of New York, who allegedly purchased several store gift cards with multiple fraudulent credit cards at the store, police said.

Investigation revealed the two suspects entered the store and purchased a total of 31 store gift cards using credit cards that were later determined to be counterfeit, police said.
The total value of the gift cards was $12,400, police said.

Police recovered several counterfeit credit cards from the two suspects. One of the suspects bit a store employee on the hand after becoming combative with them at the store, police said. Both suspects were taken into police custody.
Hamilton was charged with second-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, illegal use of a credit card, and credit card theft.
Hamilton was additionally charged with credit card fraud, unlawful reproduction of credit card, four counts of third-degree forgery, and third-degree robbery.
Henry was charged with second-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit second-degree larceny, illegal use of a credit card, and credit card theft.
Henry was also charged with credit card fraud, unlawful reproduction of a credit card, and seven counts of third-degree forgery.
Both were held in lieu of $250,000 bonds.
