Tampa police say a man is in serious condition after being shot by an acquaintance that he threatened with a baseball bat.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police say a man is in serious condition after being shot by an acquaintance that he threatened with a baseball bat.
On Tuesday at 1:13 p.m., police received a call of shots heard in the 20100 block of Weeping Laurel Place.
When they arrived, they found 30-year-old Jeremy Green with a gunshot wound.

Police said Green got into a verbal fight with another man he knows. The fight escalated and police said Green kicked the other man's car, damaging it. He then went into the garage and came out with a baseball bat, threatening to strike the other man.
Fearing for his life, the other man shot Green. Police said the victim has been cooperative with investigators.

Green, who is still in the hospital, has been charged with aggravated assault and criminal mischief.
