Tampa Police Seek Man Who Shot Witness In 7-Eleven Parking Lot

TAMPA, FL -- The Tampa Police are seeking a man who assaulted a woman on North Dale Mabry Highway and then shot a witness who tried to help.

According to Tampa Police, at 2:03 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, a Hispanic man between 30 and 40 years old assaulted a woman in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven at 1930 N. Dale Mabry Highway. After striking the woman. When a witness tried to help her, the man went to his red Ford pickup truck, retrieved a gun and shot the witness in the left shoulder before fleeing the scene.

The witness was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives are concerned for the safety of the woman who was assaulted and are searching for her as well as the shooter.

The man is described as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and heavyset. The woman is white, in her 20s, about 5 feet tall with straight blonde or light brown hair.
