Teen Faces Weapons Charges After Plant High Threat
The discovery of the weapons isn't believed to be linked to the initial threat.

TAMPA, FL – A Plant High School student faces weapons charges after Tampa Police officers happened to notice weapons in his car during a Wednesday morning lockdown at the school.
According to the agency, a call came in involving a “vague threat” against the 2415 S. Himes Ave. school. The school was placed on a modified lockdown while officers searched the campus.
“In an apparently unrelated matter, during the lockdown, officers spotted a student in his car,” an email from the police department said. “Weapons were found in his car.”

The boy, who is not being identified, faces charges for having a weapon on a school campus, police noted.
“There is no evidence at this time that the student, who is an avid hunter, is involved in any way with the threatening phone call,” the police department said.

This is the second time in a week Plant High has received a “vague threat.”
