Teen Found Dead Outside Duplex In University Area
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a teenager Wednesday night in the University of South Florida area.

TAMPA, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office is investigating the homicide of a teenager Wednesday night in the University of South Florida area.
Just before 9 p.m., while on an unrelated call near the intersection of East 124th Avenue and North 9th Street in the University of South Florida area, deputies were told a Black male teenager was lying outside a nearby duplex.
When deputies arrived, they found a teen with upper-body trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are still working to confirm the identity of the victim and are interviewing witnesses about what occurred.
"It's always tragic when a young life is taken too soon, especially due to a senseless act of violence," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "We are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time of this incident with information that could help solve this case to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 813-247-8200."
