Vandals Target 17 Vehicles in South Tampa

A number of Ballast Point area residents woke up to broken car windows Monday morning.

Monday morning got off to a rocky start for some residents in the South Tampa area who discovered their vehicles had been targeted by vandals.

The Tampa Police Department says 17 vehicles in all were targeted by a person or persons who went through the Ballast Point area simply smashing windows. While an estimated $10,000 damage was done during the spree, police spokeswoman Andrea Davis said nothing was taken from the vehicle.

Davis said police suspect the kids are responsible for the broken windows, but nothing is certain at this time.

“We want to find them,” she said.
