As America prepares to honor its men and women in uniform, a number of government agencies are closing down for Veterans Day 2015 observances.

Here is a partial listing of what’s closed – or open – this Wednesday, Nov. 11:

Federal Government Offices

Folks around the Tampa Bay area will find this is a national holiday, which means local federal government offices will close.

The United States Postal Service also recognizes the holiday, so regular mail delivery will not take place.

State Government Offices

The State of Florida also observes Veterans Day, so many local offices are likely to be closed.

County Government Offices

Here’s what individual counties around the Bay area doing:

  • Sarasota County – Veterans Day is an official holiday for the county and its courts.
  • Manatee County – The holiday is observed in this county, as well.
  • Pinellas County – County offices and local courts are closed.
  • Hillsborough County – This county also observes the holiday with nonessential offices closing down for the day.
  • Pasco County – The county closes its nonessential government offices.

City Government Offices

  • Sarasota – City government offices are closed.
  • Bradenton – City government offices are closed.
  • St. Petersburg – City government offices are closed.
  • Clearwater – City government offices are closed.
  • New Port Richey – City government offices are closed.
  • Temple Terrace – City government offices are closed.
  • Tampa – City government offices are closed.

Public Schools

  • Pasco County – Schools are open
  • Hillsborough County – School are closed
  • Pinellas County – Schools are open
  • Manatee County – Schools are closed
  • Sarasota County – Schools are open

Banks

Veterans Day is also a banking holiday, which means many local branches may be closed.
