Village Post Office Opens at US Mart in Venice

US Mart, a general store in Venice, which sells items made only in America, is the newest location for a United States Village Post Office as of Friday, November 15th, 2013.

“I understand a need for convenience and practicality when shopping in our area, and as a small business owner, I am all about offering whatever I can to better this community,” said Dr. Molly Kraut, owner of US Mart. “When I heard about the option to open a post office right at the store, I knew our existing customers would love this service, and that new customers would enjoy the convenience as well. I’m proud to be one of only a few places in Florida that offer these services.”

The US Mart Village Post Office sells stamps and offers shipping of priority flat mail rate packages. US Mart’s Village Post Office will offer regular and priority mail as the services become available to the store’s post office, which is open for business.

In the Suncoast district, which includes all of Florida with the exception of the Miami and Jacksonville areas, there are only three other Village Post Offices. This particular type of Post Office is a new project, established only last year, and US Mart is the 4th location in the state to offer this service. The other locations are in Clearwater, Tampa and Tarpon Springs, and the program is expected to increase shortly to also include Orlando, Daytona and Sarasota.
