Watch: Tampa Shows Its Lightning Pride

There's no question which team has the City of Tampa's backing in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

TAMPA, FL — It’s no secret that Tampa is a little biased heading into the Stanley Cup Playoffs’ first round of play. After all, with the Tampa Bay Lightning once again earning a berth there’s hometown pride to consider.

Proving that point, Mayor Bob Buckhorn and the Lightning’s Dave Andreychuk unfurled a giant “Go Bolts” banner on the front of City Hall Wednesday morning. The banner’s appearance comes right in time for the first game in the Bolts’ series against the Detroit Red Wings, which kicks off Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Here’s a look at the schedule for the seven-game series:

  • April 13, 7 p.m., in Tampa
  • April 15, 7 p.m., in Tampa
  • April 17, 7 p.m., in Detroit
  • April 19, 7 p.m., in Detroit
  • April 21, TBD, in Tampa
  • April 24, TBD, in Detroit
