
Tampa Bay area residents planning for the weekend may want to make sure they have umbrellas handy.
While forecasters at the National Weather Service say sunshine and blue skies are likely on Saturday and Sunday, storms are also quite possible in the afternoon hours. Here’s a look at what forecasters expect over the weekend:
Saturday
- High temperature – Low 90s
- Low temperature – Upper 70s
- Rain chances – Forecasters says there’s a 60 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms and showers in the afternoon and evening hours.
Sunday
- High temperature – Low 90s
- Low temperature – Upper 70s
- Rain chances – A 30 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms is forecast for the afternoon and evening hours.
As of Friday, forecasters expected the workweek to kick off with a 40 percent chance of storms on Monday.
