Weekend Weather: What to Expect

Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area.

Tampa Bay area residents who have been appreciating a break from constant rain may want to get outside to enjoy it while it lasts.

The National Weather Service says the region is in for a fairly wet weekend. The good news, however, is that Friday shouldn’t be too bad. The high is anticipated to reach about 90 degrees with rain chances of about 20 percent in the day and overnight hours. The low is expected to drop into the upper 70s.

Conditions are expected to deteriorate heading into Saturday. Forecasters anticipate a 90 percent chance of thunderstorms in much of the region during the day and nighttime hours. The high should only reach the upper 80s with a low in the lower 70s.

Sunday is a near repeat with rain chances set at about 80 percent during the daytime hours in much of the region. Overnight those rain chances drop to about 70 percent. The rains are expected to keep the day’s high in the mid-80s with a low once again in the lower 70s.

Monday kicks off with more rain anticipated, but chances fall to about 30 percent. The day’s high should reach the upper 80s.
