Weekend Weather: What to Expect

Tampa Bay area residents hoping to enjoy some outdoors time this weekend are likely to find the weather fits their plans perfectly.

According to the National Weather Service, the weekend kicks off with a slight chance of showers on Friday and a high in the mid-70s. Those rain chances are expected to clear out in the overnight hours when temperatures should drop to the low 60s.

Saturday is anticipated to bring partly sunny conditions and a high around 80. A partly cloudy Saturday night will deliver a low in the low to mid-60s. Sunday is expected to be a near repeat, but with slightly warmer conditions anticipated.

While severe weather isn’t in the cards, forecasters do warn that winds could make conditions rough on local waters for small craft operators. Winds around 20 knots are anticipated Friday and into Saturday with a gradual diminishing. Boaters are urged to exercise caution.

The workweek is expected to arrive with mild conditions Monday. A mostly sunny day is forecast with a high in the mid-to-upper 70s. The overnight low may not break the 60-degree mark.
