Tampa Bay area residents eager for a break from 80-degree days are going to get it this weekend, but they’ll have to endure some rain along the way.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday kicks off with partly sunny conditions and a high around 80 degrees anticipated. A slight chance of rain moves in during the afternoon hours. Overnight those rain chances rise to about 30 percent when the low will drop to around 60.

Saturday arrives with more chances for rain and a high in the upper 60s anticipated. The overnight low should drop into the mid-50s with a 30 percent chance for rain in the cards.

Sunday is anticipated to be the wettest day of the weekend with an 80 percent chance of rain during the daytime hours. The high is expected to climb to the low-60s. Rain chances linger at 70 percent in the overnight hours when the low should drop to about 50 degrees.

Monday is anticipated to bring mostly sunny conditions and a high in the mid-60s to kick off the workweek.

Boaters with plans to head out onto Bay area waters are being asked to exercise caution. Winds are expected to reach about 20 knots, potentially creating hazardous boating conditions for small craft operators.
