Weekend Weather: What to Expect

Find out what's in store for Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping for some fun in the sun will likely find the weather cooperative this weekend.

The National Weather Service is predicting a mostly sunny Friday and Saturday. This is Florida, however, which means it’s not out of the question that an afternoon thunderstorm could crop up in the region.

As of Friday morning, rain chances were low enough that the service didn’t include them in its forecast for the first part of the weekend. What it did include is a high in the upper 80s for Friday followed by a low around 72. Saturday is expected to bring temperatures into the mid-80s with a low in the mid-70s.

Rain chances do creep back into the picture Sunday with a 30 percent chance forecast as of Friday. A high around 85 is expected in much of the region with a low around 75. Rain chances increase to about 40 percent overnight Sunday and remain in the cards Monday to kick off the workweek.
