
Tampa Bay area residents hoping to enjoy the great outdoors this weekend are likely to find the weather mostly cooperative.
While the National Weather Service says thunderstorms are possible throughout the weekend, plenty of sunshine is also on tap. Keep in mind, however, that storms that do develop have the potential to produce deadly lighting strikes, gusty winds and locally heavy rains.

Friday
- High temperature – Low to mid-90s
- Low temperature – Upper 70s
- Rain chances – About 30 percent in the afternoon and evening hours
Saturday
- High temperature – Mid-90s in much of the Bay area
- Low temperature – Upper 70s
- Rain chances – About 30 percent in the afternoon and 20 percent overnight
Sunday
- High temperature – Low 90s throughout much of the region
- Low temperature – Upper 70s
- Rain chances – About 20 to 50 percent in different parts of the Bay during the daytime hours and 40 percent overnight.
The workweek is expected to arrive with a high in the low 90s Monday and roughly a 30 percent chance of rain.
