TAMPA, FL — October is quickly coming to an end, and time is almost up to get the best pumpkin at a local patch for Halloween.

An annual trip to a Tampa pumpkin patch is a fall pastime for many families. Fields often have free activities such as corn mazes, hayrides and apple cider tastings.

It’s best to call ahead to the field or check its website for coronavirus-related guidelines and hours of operation.

Below are some of the top pumpkin farms in the Tampa area to visit in 2021:

Hyde Park Village Pumpkin Patch

The annual Hyde Park Village Pumpkin Patch will take place through Oct. 31 at 1602 W. Snow Circle. Proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch will benefit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.

Pumpkin patch hours Saturday and Sunday are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pumpkins range in price from $1 to $20.

Humane Society Pumpkin Patch

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay, 3607 N. Armenia Ave., is also hosting a pumpkin patch at the shelter to benefit its homeless animals from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The patch offers a variety of pumpkins and gourds ranging from $1 to $20 and a great photo backdrop for two- and four-legged kids.

Bar HWRD Pumpkin Patch

Bar HWRD, 302 S. Howard Ave., Tampa, will host its first Pumpkin Patch Market @ HWRD through Oct. 31. Residents can find the perfect pumpkin, take photos against one of the market's backdrops and enjoy seasonal coffee, Matcha Brew (pelo/keto/vegan/picky options available) and spooky snacks including a popcorn and pie fall combo for $10.

Pumpkins are $25 for kickball size, $15 for basketball size and $10 BOGO for softball size.

St. Paul Pumpkin Patch

St. Paul Catholic Church's youth group will host its pumpkin patch Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the church, 12708 N. Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa.

South Tampa Farm Pumpkin Patch

South Tampa Farm, South Tampa's only urban farm located at 6101 S. 2nd St., in Ballast Point, is hosting a pumpkin patch featuring pumpkins large and small. South Tampa Farm is open Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Seminole Heights Great Pumpkin Patch

The Hampton Terrace Community Association and Seminole Heights United Methodist Church will host their annual fall fundraiser, the Seminole Heights Great Pumpkin Patch, at the church, 6111 N. Central Ave., Tampa.

Thousands of pumpkins, gourds, special pumpkins, heirloom pumpkins, carving kits and more are available.

The pumpkin patch is open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Tampa Bay Farmers Market

Tampa Bay Farmers Market, 10001 N. Armenia Ave., Tampa, is hosting its annual Halloween Pumpkin Patch Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition to a variety of types and sizes of pumpkins and gourds, the market will have corn stalks, straw bales, hay, fall mums, pumpkin decals and more. Additionally, there will be hot-boiled peanuts, local honey and local coffee and firewood for those chilly fall nights.

14th Annual Fall Festival Fundraiser

HorsePower for Kids, 8005 S. Race Track Road, Tampa, will host its 14th annual fall festival fundraiser Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 31.

It includes pony rides, hayrides, farm animals, a bounce house, games, a playground, live music and train rides.

There will be a pumpkin patch with pumpkins to purchase and food vendors.

The cost is $12 for adults and children. Babies age 12 months and under are admitted for free.

17th Annual Wesley Chapel Fall Festival

The North Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce's 17th annual Wesley Chapel Fall Festival takes place Saturday, Oct. 30, and Sunday, Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. the Tampa Premium Outlets, 2300 Grand Cypress Drive, Lutz.

Admission is $5 with kids under 12 admitted for free.

There will be three community stages, live entertainment, a pumpkin patch, trunk or treat, pet costume contest, Lil Miss and Mr. Pumpkin Pageant, more than 50 crafters, photo opps, a petting zoo and "the World's Largest Food Truck Rally" with more than 60 national food trucks and local favorites.

Harvest Moon Fun Farm Maze And Pumpkin Patch

Harvest Moon Fun Farm at 106 E. Lumsden Road, Brandon, will host its sixth annual corn maze and pumpkin patch Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Nov. 7.

In addition to the traditional corn maze and a huge selection of pumpkins, Harvest Moon Farm offers a flashlight maze, a haunted trail, a miniature cow train, a petting zoo, entertainment by The Moogician and Nerdy Noah, gem mining, barn yard games, pedal cars, a hill slide, a tree house, ball zone, candy cannon, Konk the Crow game and food vendors selling apple cider, kettle corn and other seasonal treats.
