Woman Rescued From Burning Car After Crash: Hillsborough Sheriff
Bodycam footage shows a deputy rescuing a woman from a burning car after she crashed into a heavily wooded area, Hillsborough sheriff said.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — Bodycam footage shows a deputy rescuing a woman from a burning car after it crashed through a fence and into a heavily wooded area, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post. (Watch the bodycam footage below.)
Deputies responded to the crash on Gunn Highway near Copeland Road Monday around noon.
They found a 70-year-old woman behind the wheel. A deputy quickly helped her from the car before it became fully engulfed in flames, the sheriff’s office said.

“Let’s get you out of the car because it’s on fire,” he can be heard saying in the bodycam video.
The woman sustained minor injuries in the crash. She was brought to a local hospital and has since recovered.

"Deputy Bellamy's swift and selfless response undoubtedly saved a life in a critical moment," Sheriff Chad Chronister said. "His courage and quick thinking exemplify our deputies' dedication to serving and protecting our community."
