Thursday and Friday are expected to be near mirrors of each other with storm chances set at 30 percent in much of the region. The highs again should climb into the upper 80s to low 90s.

While thunderstorms are commonplace this time of year, forecasters warn those that do develop will be capable of producing strong, gusty winds, locally heavy rain and frequent, deadly lightning strikes. While no significant severe weather is anticipated, “there is a threat for more regional heavy rainfall along with frequent lightning strikes,” forecasters warned in the agency’s Hazardous Weather Outlook report on Monday.
