Yankees Fans Struck By Lightning At Game In Tampa: Report
A father and daughter from Illinois sought refuge under a tree after a spring training game when they were struck. Both survived.
TAMPA, FL — A father and daughter from Illinois had a harrowing experience after a Yankees spring training baseball game in Florida over the weekend, according to a WABC TV report.
John and Ashley Moberg were caught in a thunderstorm and couldn't find their car after a game at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa on Saturday, when they took refuge underneath a tree. Lightning struck the tree and hit both of them, knocking them off their feet, according to the report.
Both were briefly unable to get up, and Ashley was unsure if her father had survived, she told the station. John, 74, suffered a broken cheekbone and Ashley, 19, had a burn from her necklace.

"It could have been a lot worse. We're very lucky," Ashley told CBS Tampa.
