TAMPA, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that resulted in yard waste and propane tanks to be strewn across Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County.

According to the highway patrol, at 8:55 a.m. Monday, the pickup truck driven by a 35-year-old Tampa man and a commercial vehicle transporting 245 propane tanks, driven by a 28-year-old Tampa man, were heading south on I-275, just south of Dale Mabry Highway

While changing lanes the driver of the pickup truck changed lanes and the trailer began to fishtail. The driver lost control and struck the front of the commercial vehicle.

The vehicle carrying the propane tanks struck a guardrail and the overturned, blocking all southbound lanes of I-275. The pickup truck jackknifed.

In the process, propane tanks and yard debris were thrown on the highway.

The driver of the pickup truck was cited for an improper lane change.
