Spring Hill murder: Family member behind bars after woman found dead (fox13news.com) — Deputies are investigating a deadly incident at a Spring Hill home where a 70-year-old woman was found dead, and a 51-year-old male family member has been arrested on a second-degree murder charge. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office says prior threatening messages and a later arrest at a nearby mobile home park are part of the ongoing case.
   

2. Spring Hill man receives Carnegie Medal for saving son from 2025 fire (mainstreetmediatn.com) — A Spring Hill father, Brandon Rorer, has been awarded the prestigious Carnegie Medal for rescuing his 7-year-old son from a severe house fire last August. Rorer repeatedly fought through heavy smoke and intense heat to reach the boy, who suffered minor burns, while Rorer endured serious burns and smoke injuries and is still recovering from his three-week hospitalization.
   

3. Living a Different Dream (hernandosun.com) — A former Nature Coast basketball standout who grew up in Spring Hill has reinvented himself as a traveling digital creator, building a nationwide “Tall Tours” community and collaborating with celebrities like Shaquille O’Neal. Though he now lives elsewhere, he credits Spring Hill’s close-knit feel and local support for shaping his journey from injured pro hopeful to successful content entrepreneur.
   

4. Investigators revisit Florida serial killer case as search resumes for possible additional victims (foxnews.com) — Investigators are again searching Hernando County land tied to convicted killer Billy Mansfield, who buried several victims beneath his Spring Hill home on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Using cadaver dogs and excavations at Dry Creek Ranch, authorities hope to locate additional remains and identify long-missing victims, even though new prosecutions are unlikely due to the case’s age.
