Family Dogs Saved During House Fire In St. Pete

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — After reporting earlier that at least one dog died and another was missing, St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue issued a correction, saying that all five family dogs were rescued during a house fire in St. Petersburg Monday morning.

According to St. Petersburg Fire and Rescue, the fire started around 10:45 in the single-story home in the 200 block of 80th Avenue North.

When fire crews arrived, they found thick smoke and flames coming from the front of the home. It took fire crews about 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

None of the home's occupants were injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
