17-Year-Old Arrested For Threatening To 'Shoot Up' School
Information from the Gibbs High School resource officers and from the St. Petersburg Police tip line has led to the arrest of a 17-year-old.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Information from the Gibbs High School resource officers and from the St. Petersburg Police tip line has led to the arrest of a 17-year-old for posting a threatening message on Facebook.
Police arrested the teen Wednesday, Oct. 17, at his Pinellas Park home and charged him with written threats to conduct a mass shooting/act of terrorism, a felony.
The teen posted on Facebook that he would "shoot up" Gibbs High School if someone "liked" his post. He also posted photos of himself posing with firearms.

A Gibbs High School student was reprimanded for encouraging the teen in his comments on the post.
Students who see or hear threatening messages are encouraged to contact the St. Petersburg Police right away or reach out to their school resource officer.
