Legrand and Mitchell were connected to a similar case involving a 90-year-old woman April 10. In that case, the robbers searched the victim's car and trunk after she returned from the grocery store. They didn't find anything to steal, but a witness provided police with the getaway car's tag number, which led detectives to Legrand and Mitchell.
On Thursday night, detectives watched as the pair pulled into the Walgreens parking lot at 900 49th St. N., enter an unlocked sports utility vehicle and steal a purse.
