2 Burned Beyond Recognition In St. Pete Single-Car Crash
St. Petersburg police say two people are dead after crashing a stolen car into a tree.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- St. Petersburg police say two people are dead after crashing a stolen car into a tree.
This crash is still under investigation, but preliminary information indicates that at 3:23 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, a white 2016 Mazda Miata was westbound at a high rate of speed on 38th Avenue North. As it was approaching 49th Street North, the driver lost control, swerved off the road and hit a tree. The car immediately caught fire.
When police arrived the driver and passenger were burned beyond recognition.

The medical examiner was able to identify the two bodies as Damari Milton, 18, and passenger Dequante Lightsey, 16.
Police determined the car was stolen hours earlier.
