2 Die In Fiery Crash After Fleeing From St. Pete Police
Two men have died after fleeing from St. Petersburg Police during a traffic stop and crashing on Interstate 275 early Tuesday morning.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Two men have died after fleeing from St. Petersburg Police during a traffic stop and crashing on Interstate 275 early Tuesday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 1:36 a.m., St. Petersburg Police attempted to pull over a Hyundai Genesis driven by Andreis Lamont Hayward, 28, of Safety Harbor at 5th Avenue South and 4th Street South at the entrance ramp to Interstate 1-75.
Troopers said Hayward fled from police, speeding north on Interstate 275 at 22nd Avenue North, although police did not pursue the vehicle.

Hayward lost control at a curve, entered the median and collided with a tree, overturning multiple times. The passenger, Lorenzo Alexandar Hayward, 33, of Clearwater was ejected as the Genesis burst into flames.
Both men died at the scene.
